PDS Tech Commercial is looking for a highly skilled Structural Analysis Engineer to support a leading aerospace manufacturer in Wichita, KS. In this short-term yet high-impact 3-month consulting role, you'll play a critical part in ensuring structural integrity, regulatory compliance, and performance excellence across propulsion components. Your work will directly support key commercial aircraft programs at one of the nation’s foremost aerospace hubs.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
As a Structural Analysis Engineer, you will apply advanced engineering knowledge to support both product development and legacy platforms. Your daily tasks will include:
Performing structural analysis, including static, fatigue, and damage tolerance evaluations
Interpreting loads from finite element models (FEM) and collaborating with loads engineers
Working closely with design engineers to optimize structures for strength, weight, and cost
Creating and reviewing Strength Check Note Packages and detailed stress documentation
Evaluating structural integrity of nacelle components such as inlets (composites) and thrust reversers
Supporting strut/pylon structures and assemblies
Utilizing stress tools and methodologies to complete structural assessments
Bachelor’s degree in engineering + 5–8 years of relevant experience
(OR Master’s degree + 3–6 years, OR PhD + 0–3 years)
Proficiency in:
Structural sizing and stress documentation
Finite element modeling and interpretation of results
Working with structural loads and collaborating cross-functionally
Experience in at least one of the following:
Nacelle components: inlet (composite), thrust reversers
Strut/pylon structural systems
Familiarity with stress tools is highly preferred
