PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a talented Electrical Engineer – EMI/EMC Specialist for a 12-month, full-time consulting opportunity in Woodland Hills, CA (91367). This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
As an EMI/EMC Electrical Engineer, you’ll focus on the design, analysis, and testing of electronic hardware in compliance with strict electromagnetic interference and compatibility standards. Working in a highly collaborative environment, you’ll apply your knowledge of MIL-STD 461, MIL-STD 464, and DO-160 to ensure that mission-critical systems meet the demanding performance and reliability standards required for defense and aerospace applications.
This role may be filled at the Principal or Sr. Principal level depending on your experience and qualifications.
Design, analyze, and troubleshoot electronic circuits with a focus on EMI/EMC compliance
Develop and support EMI/EMC hardware requirements at the sub-system level
Perform simulation and modeling using tools such as PSPICE
Interpret and apply EMI/EMC standards (MIL-STD 461, MIL-STD 464, DO-160)
Support system-level and sub-system-level EMI/EMC testing
Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to integrate EMI/EMC strategies into product development
Document analysis, findings, and testing results in accordance with engineering standards
Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of experience, or Master’s with 3+ years
Proficiency in electronic hardware design
Knowledge of EMI/EMC engineering principles
Familiarity with MIL-STD 461, MIL-STD 464, and DO-160
Experience with PSPICE for modeling and simulation
Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering with 8+ years of experience, Master’s with 6+ years, or PhD with 4+ years
Advanced experience with EMI/EMC modeling, simulation, and testing
Same foundational qualifications as above, with demonstrated leadership in technical execution
M.S. in Electrical Engineering
Proficiency with CST CAE tools, Ansys EMC Plus, or other EMI simulation platforms
Experience with EMP modeling and testing
Background in Signal Integrity analysis, using Cadence or Siemens HyperLynx
Hands-on experience with system-level EMI/EMC testing
