Summary:
Fabricate aircraft furniture and wood-surfaced components based on blueprints, design drawings, and specifications
Assemble, pin, and glue cabinet shells; install hardware including hinges, latches, and drawer slides
Apply surface materials such as laminates, veneers, and cap strips
Use stationary and hand-held power tools for fabrication and disassembly of furniture
Maintain compliance with all safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies
Use personal protective equipment and protect aircraft interiors during work
Utilize material tracking systems for part creation, squawk tracking, and work sign-off
Collaborate with leads and senior technicians to implement process improvements using Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required
Minimum 2 years of cabinetmaking experience required
Experience in the aerospace industry preferred
Familiarity with inspection and process specifications preferred
Basic knowledge of cabinetmaking tools, processes, and products
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, design drawings, and aircraft specifications
Must be computer literate
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
Able to climb ladders and stairs
Able to work in confined or restricted spaces
Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs
Must be able to work any shift
Must comply with all safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies
Must be able to use personal protective equipment (PPE)
Willingness to collaborate on process improvements using Lean or Six Sigma methodologies
Ability to use stationary and handheld power tools
Ability to apply surface materials such as laminates, veneers, and cap strips
Experience using a material tracking system (to create part demands, track squawks, and sign off work)
Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
