Pay Rate: $40.17/hour | Contract: 12 Months | Full-Time | Variable Shifts
PDS Tech Commercial is seeking experienced Aircraft Structures Mechanics to support critical aerospace operations in San Antonio, TX. In this hands-on, high-impact role, you’ll contribute directly to the integrity and safety of mission-critical aircraft—supporting a team that values precision, professionalism, and performance.
Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance.
Your Impact:
As an Aircraft Structures Mechanic, you’ll be instrumental in performing structural repairs and modifications on large-scale aircraft. Your expertise will ensure each aircraft meets rigorous performance and safety standards. You’ll be working on essential systems, making a difference every day in aerospace reliability and mission readiness.
Execute close-tolerance drilling, reaming, and installation in fracture-critical areas
Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications for modification/repair
Perform sealing, painting, shimming, and preservation of structures
Utilize specialized tools such as torque wrenches, tensiometers, and sheet metal brakes
Troubleshoot and repair aircraft mechanical components and systems
Access and update data in aircraft systems and initiate part/discrepancy requests
Work safely in confined spaces, at heights, and lift materials up to 35 lbs
Collaborate across teams (mechanical, avionics, electrical) to meet schedule goals
Maintain compliance with safety, tooling, and FOD prevention protocols
4+ years of hands-on experience with aluminum, titanium, or stainless structural components
Proficiency with engineering schematics, specs, and aircraft assembly drawings
Experience using advanced hand tools (drills, rivet guns, countersinks, etc.)
Skilled in structural fastening and modification of aircraft assemblies
Ability to work variable shifts, including overtime and weekends
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in heavy aircraft maintenance, JAWACS, or depot-level work
Ability to operate forklifts, cranes, and powered lift equipment
High school diploma or GED with 4+ years of relevant experience
(Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.)
