At PDS Tech Commercial, we’re looking for experienced Assembly Mechanics to join a high-impact aerospace program supporting the 737 fuselage. As a full-time consultant in Renton, WA, you’ll bring your technical expertise to a role where precision craftsmanship meets mission-critical production.

About the Role:

As an Assembly Mechanic, you’ll perform complex structural assembly, installations, rigging, and functional tests on 737 fuselage components. You’ll work hands-on with shop tools, blueprints, and precision instruments, helping to ensure the structural integrity and functionality of one of the most iconic aircraft in the world.

Contract Length: 6 Months
Location: Renton, WA 98057
Schedule: Must be available to work either shift
Pay Rate: $43.35/hour
Per Diem: $110/day for eligible non-local candidates
Travel & Hotel Support: Flights and hotel covered for training in Wichita, KS

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Assemble, install, seal, and inspect structural components on the 737 fuselage

• Interpret engineering drawings, process specs, and quality requirements

• Use shop math and precision measuring tools for assembly and functional tests

• Perform machine maintenance tasks (e.g., filter changes, lubrication checks)

• Move and track parts through manufacturing processes using assigned equipment

• Participate in cross-training, mentoring, and support of production flow

• Maintain quality standards and report discrepancies as required

• May become SIA-qualified and cross-trained in inspection and sealing functions

Required Qualifications:

• Must be available for either first or second shift

• 5+ years of sheet metal experience in the aerospace industry

• Strong background in structure and rework (737 rework experience preferred)

• Eligible for rehire by a major aerospace OEM (check status at 866-473-2016)

• Willing to travel for initial training in Wichita, KS (all expenses covered)

• Ability to interpret complex blueprints and engineering documents

• Familiarity with tooling and quality control processes

Preferred Experience:

• Experience in 737 fuselage assembly or rework

• Structures background and sealing expertise

• Previous work on large commercial aircraft platforms
