Location: Ogden, UT | Full-Time Consultant (12-Month Contract) | $32.56–$36.71/hr | First Shift (4/10 Schedule, Mon–Fri)
PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a dedicated Service Technician to support essential operations in the aerospace and defense industry in Ogden, Utah. As a Service Technician, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of advanced aerospace systems. Your technical skills and problem-solving mindset will directly support customers, maintenance teams, and engineering groups on the ground—making a measurable difference in mission readiness and performance.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
As a Service Technician, you will:
Investigate and resolve technical, maintenance, operational, and quality issues that require in-depth analysis
Assist in root cause investigations and troubleshoot reported equipment or system issues
Coordinate and develop routine in-service communications to ensure safe and efficient equipment maintenance and use
Initiate quality checks and contribute to ongoing product or service improvements
Interface with customers, suppliers, and engineering teams to ensure that service expectations and safety standards are met
Provide field support and occasional travel assistance (up to 10%) to customer or supplier sites
Use a variety of technical tools such as multimeters, signal generators, oscilloscopes, and RF analyzers to test and diagnose equipment
2+ years of relevant experience or a combination of education and technical training (Associate degree or equivalent work experience)
Strong communication skills and ability to work across diverse teams
Ability to interact with management, customers, and government officials in a professional and technical capacity
Solid understanding of electromechanical systems and electronic testing principles
Experience with large-scale test environments and advanced test equipment
Familiarity with RF (radio frequency) sources, power meters, and spectrum analyzers
Electromechanical assembly experience, particularly with soldering and MIL-SPEC connectors
Knowledge of Ohm’s Law, resistor color codes, and electrical measurement practices
Ability to perform under pressure and remain calm during technical escalations
Experience with automation tools, planning test setups, and maintaining quality documentation
