PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant (Financial Planning & Analysis) to support Plant 1 operations in Rockford, IL. This hybrid role puts you at the center of manufacturing operations finance, driving critical insights and accountability for one of aerospace’s most vital sectors.

This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.                                               
 

What You’ll Do

• Serve as the financial point of contact for Operations, SIOP, and Quality teams

• Lead monthly and quarterly closings, including journal entries, forecasts, and variance reports

• Drive financial planning and analysis for Plant 1 operations and CapEx

• Develop and report on short- and long-term financial plans, forecasts, and operational metrics

• Prepare detailed financial reports for management on factory performance and spending

• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver accurate data and resolve financial issues

• Conduct monthly account reconciliations and ad hoc analysis

• Ensure compliance with internal controls, SOX documentation/testing, and government accounting standards (DCMA/DCAA/RTX audits)

What You’ll Need to Bring

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

• 7+ years of accounting or financial planning & analysis experience

• Strong knowledge of inventory, manufacturing operations finance, and capital expenditures

• Advanced Excel skills with experience managing and analyzing large data sets

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting across departments and leadership levels

• Familiarity with SOX compliance and government contract requirements

Preferred:

• Experience working in aerospace or high-tech manufacturing environments

• Prior exposure to DCMA/DCAA audit protocols and CapEx financial modeling
