Are you ready to push the boundaries of what’s possible in aerospace design? At PDS Tech Commercial, we’re looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a fast-paced Integrated Project Team (IPT) in Everett, WA. This role is critical in shaping how next-generation aircraft systems come together—from new customer integrations to sustaining cutting-edge interior solutions. You'll bring engineering precision, design creativity, and systems-level thinking to solve real-world aviation challenges.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
As the mechanical engineering focal point within your program, you’ll:
Lead mechanical design for new integration projects.
Create installation drawings and top-level assembly models in NX.
Design new components and subassemblies to meet evolving customer needs.
Participate in internal design reviews and customer-facing technical meetings.
Publish parts lists and conduct peer reviews to ensure quality and compliance.
Support the implementation of new design options through procurement, testing, and operations.
Troubleshoot field data and engineering discrepancies, and resolve manufacturing or design issues.
Coordinate daily with a cross-functional IPT including electrical, stress, flammability, purchasing, and operations teams.
Update program-specific weight matrices and design documentation.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 5–7 years of relevant experience in integration or interior systems design.
Strong experience with 3D CAD tools; NX preferred, but Catia, SolidWorks, or equivalent accepted.
Experience designing for commercial aircraft interiors or monuments.
Solid understanding of GD&T and 2D drawing interpretation.
Ability to manage multiple active design projects simultaneously.
Proven verbal and written communication skills across global teams.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications:
Expertise in NX (Unigraphics) and Teamcenter.
Familiarity with aerospace interior integration.
Experience with kaizen, lean engineering, or process improvement workshops.
Engineering fundamentals in mechanics, kinematics, kinetics, and FBD/stress analysis.
Ability to deliver clear, technical presentations to stakeholders and customers.
Background in authoring or updating engineering standard work.
