PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a skilled Equipment & Tool Engineer to develop, implement, and improve the equipment that powers modern aircraft manufacturing. In this high-impact role, you’ll design and optimize tools that directly influence product quality, safety, and production efficiency in the aviation industry.

As an Equipment & Tool Engineer, you will:
Evaluate project and program requirements to develop complex equipment concepts and customized design solutions for aerospace production systems
Analyze technical data to assess how equipment affects product design, usability, and production rates
Ensure designs comply with key standards—safety, reliability, maintainability, ergonomic principles, and regulatory requirements
Create and release technical specifications for equipment procurement from external suppliers
Troubleshoot equipment issues on the production floor related to quality, repeatability, and operational safety
Implement short-term workarounds while maintaining accurate documentation and hardware configurations
Conduct asset evaluations and make strategic recommendations on upgrades, reuse, or disposal
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry from an accredited institution (ABET accreditation preferred but not required)
Ability to work on-site and perform hands-on troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment (steel-toed shoes required)
Preferred Qualifications:
Working knowledge of various manufacturing techniques and production systems
Experience with automation and robotics in an industrial or aerospace setting
Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, manufacturing, and procurement teams
Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
