About the Role:
As an Assembly & Test Technician, you will be responsible for performing critical assembly and testing on a variety of complex mechanical systems. Your work will directly impact the quality and reliability of high-tech aerospace equipment. With your technical and mechanical expertise, you’ll use precision tools and equipment to help ensure every part meets the highest standards. You will have the chance to work independently while being part of a dedicated, high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities:
Precision Assembly & Testing: Perform assembly, calibration, and testing using advanced tools and measuring equipment for hydro-mechanical fuel controls in aerospace production.
Quality Assurance: Visually inspect and measure parts for quality, ensuring all products meet strict standards.
Documentation: Accurately maintain all required documentation, following quality procedures and specifications.
Troubleshooting: Identify and report defective materials or processes, and take action to resolve issues.
Workplace Safety: Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations while maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
Continuous Improvement: Participate in daily Tier meetings and contribute to problem-solving and process improvements.
Team Collaboration: Work effectively with your team to meet production goals and ensure high-quality results.
Required Qualifications:
Experience: Proven experience working with hands-on mechanical systems, ideally in automotive, aerospace, electrical, plumbing, construction, machining, or aviation.
Technical & Mechanical Expertise: Strong skills in using precision tools like micrometers, dial indicators, and depth micrometers. Ability to interpret blueprints and technical specifications.
Computer Skills: Basic proficiency in MS Office and the ability to navigate the internet for work-related tasks.
Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and work in an environment with potential exposure to physical risks.
Work Ethic & Independence: Must be able to work with minimal supervision and follow detailed assembly and testing instructions.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience: 2-3 years of experience in an assembly and/or test manufacturing environment.
Certifications: Six Sigma training or certification, North Carolina WorkKeys Career Readiness certificate (Silver or Gold), or an Associate’s degree.
Problem-Solving: Excellent troubleshooting skills and a proactive approach to solving issues at the lowest level.
Aerospace Background: Experience in aerospace production is a plus.
Continuous Improvement: Participation in or leadership of continuous improvement activities (e.g., 5S, Six Sigma).
