PDS Tech Commercial is looking for a highly skilled and motivated Air Vehicle Systems Design Engineer to support an industry-leading aerospace client on the MV-75 program in Fort Worth, Texas. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on critical aircraft subsystem design and integration, including fuel, hydraulics, mechanical controls, and environmental control systems.
This is not an airframe design role. Instead, the focus is on the systems that enable peak aircraft performance—bringing together engineering precision, innovation, and cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced and rewarding environment.
Role Overview
As a key contributor within the Air Vehicle Systems Engineering team, you will be responsible for the development and release of 3D designs, model-based definitions, and structural provisions that support critical aircraft systems. You will work closely with cross-disciplinary teams and suppliers to ensure quality, compliance, and timely delivery of engineering solutions aligned with program objectives.
Primary Responsibilities:
Design and route 3D models for electrical and fluid conveyance systems
Develop model-based definitions, including 2D and 3D annotations for components and assemblies
Perform trade studies and analysis to support structural bracket and provision design
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to address technical challenges
Support supplier and teammate integration activities
Ensure compliance with engineering standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team-wide technical leadership
Manage design activities within defined cost and schedule constraints
Candidate Qualifications
Required:
Minimum 5 years of aerospace or relevant industry experience in systems design
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (other technical degrees considered with applicable experience)
Proficiency in CATIA V5, V6, or 3DEXPERIENCE
Expertise in electrical harness, piping, and tubing design
Strong understanding of GD&T and mechanical design principles
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and coordinate across technical teams
Experience developing and managing engineering deliverables in a collaborative environment
Preferred:
Prior experience with advanced aircraft subsystem development
Familiarity with model-based engineering and systems integration practices
Leadership or mentoring experience within an engineering design environment
