Job Type: Full-time; Contract (12 months)
Location: Beltsville, MD 20705
Schedule: 2nd shift (2pm-11pm)
Pay Rate: $40 - $47/hour
Role Summary:
As a Machinist, you'll play a critical role in the production of high-precision metal parts and components for aerospace applications. Your expertise in CNC and manual machining will help bring complex designs to life, ensuring the safety and reliability of aerospace equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate CNC machines (lathes, mills) and manual equipment (shapers, planers, grinders) to create precision components.
Interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications to plan machining tasks.
Calculate dimensions, tooling, feeds, and speeds for efficient, accurate production.
Use machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments to ensure exact tolerances.
Perform quality checks in line with statistical process control procedures.
Fit and assemble precision parts into aerospace equipment.
Qualifications:
Required:
Completion of a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training/experience.
Proficiency in CNC machine operation and manual machining.
Strong blueprint reading and technical math skills.
Experience with precision measuring instruments.
Preferred:
4th/5th axis CNC experience.
Aerospace industry experience.

Pay Details: $40.00 to $47.00 per hour
