PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a Structural Engineer to join a high-impact aerospace program based in Chandler, AZ. This is a unique full-time, contract (6 months) opportunity to work on next-generation launch vehicles, supporting structural innovation from the ground up.
About the Role
As a Structural Engineer, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team of analysts, design engineers, and program managers working on cutting-edge aerospace technologies. Your expertise will directly contribute to the performance, safety, and advancement of flight systems that shape the future of space and defense.
This position requires a security clearance, and candidates are required to be U.S. Citizens.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct structural analysis using hand calculations and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) methods (linear and non-linear)
Support design iterations and manufacturing through structural troubleshooting
Communicate analysis results to project stakeholders, management, and customers
Author and maintain technical reports and documentation
Collaborate with loads, dynamics, thermal, aero, and test teams to ensure integration success
Develop and implement test procedures for metallic and composite materials
Assist in defining structural design solutions for high-temperature environments

Job Type: Full-time Consultant (6 Months, Contract-to-Hire Potential)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, First Shift (9x80 A Schedule)
Pay Range: $50.72 – $63.40 per hour
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 10–14 years of relevant experience
Proficiency in at least one of the following tools: Femap, NASTRAN, NASGRO, Abaqus, MathCAD, NX, or Teamcenter
Strong problem-solving and structural analysis capabilities
Hands-on experience with Ground Support Equipment (GSE) design and analysis
Ability to apply fundamental structural engineering methods in real-world scenarios
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s or PhD in a STEM field with 8–10 years of structural engineering experience
Familiarity with fatigue and fracture mechanics, including Fracture Control Plans
Experience in composite structural analysis (carbon and ceramic materials)
Knowledge of high-temperature materials and testing for hypersonic applications
