PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a Product Repair Technician for a 12-month full-time consulting opportunity in Jacksonville, FL. Join a skilled team on the F-18 Flight Controls Program, where your work will directly contribute to the safety, reliability, and readiness of high-performance fighter aircraft.
This is a hands-on role that requires structural repair knowledge, attention to detail, and a commitment to aerospace quality standards.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Assemble, disassemble, and modify aerospace systems and components, primarily on F-18 flight controls
Perform close-tolerance hole drilling, part location and fabrication, and detail match drilling
Execute structural repairs and upgrades using industry-standard techniques and precision tools
Inspect components to verify flightworthiness and document all procedures per regulatory and contractual standards
Collaborate with other technicians and engineers to ensure accuracy, safety, and operational excellence
Use tools such as Microsoft Office to log data, track repairs, and maintain records
High school diploma or GED
1+ year of experience in aerospace structural repairs or related mechanical work
Proficiency with close-tolerance drilling and component fabrication
Basic computer literacy, especially with Microsoft Office applications
A strong work ethic and attention to safety and detail
Experience with flight control structures on military aircraft
Knowledge of nondestructive inspection, corrosion control, or composite materials
Familiarity with fatigue and stress-related repair techniques
