PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a Systems Architect Engineer to support one of the most advanced defense technology programs in the industry. In this role, you’ll partner with an innovative team focused on developing complex weapon systems that serve mission-critical needs around the world. You’ll lead digital system design efforts, drive FPGA innovation, and help build high-reliability solutions with lasting impact.

This position requires a security clearance, and candidates are required to be U.S. Citizens.
Serve as a subject matter expert in digital signal processing, FPGA design, and emerging technologies.
Lead and mentor digital design teams (3–4 engineers) through all phases of architecture and development.
Design, simulate, and document FPGA solutions using platforms such as Xilinx Kintex7, Zynq, Ultrascale, RFSoc, and Intel Agilex/Arria 10.
Develop and test digital systems for military applications using advanced simulation tools and lab instrumentation.
Author and manage architecture documents, interface specifications, and test procedures.
Conduct hands-on debugging and validation using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other lab tools.
Support integration and verification across hardware and software systems.
Lead the implementation of coding standards, revision control, and test plans to ensure robust design and compliance.
Participate in on-site/field testing and analyze test data to optimize designs.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s in Electrical or Computer Engineering + 12 years of relevant experience
(or Master’s + 10 years, or PhD + 8 years)
Advanced experience in FPGA design and simulation (VHDL or Verilog)
Strong knowledge of timing constraints, hardware/software integration, and digital system architecture
Skilled in using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers
Strong technical documentation, interpersonal, and team leadership skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency in VHDL (preferred HDL language)
Experience with bus protocols (I2C, SPI, RS-232, JESD204B, CSI/MIPI)
Familiarity with MATLAB, Simulink, Vivado, Quartus, ModelSim, and DSP tools
Expertise in digital signal processing (filters, Hilbert transform, PLLs, etc.)
Full product lifecycle experience: design ? implementation ? test
Understanding of Six Sigma, DFA/DFM, and military-grade testing (e.g., temperature extremes)
