Are you a seasoned Avionics Mechanic ready to support high-profile aerospace missions? Join the PDS Tech Commercial team in San Antonio, TX. We’re seeking experienced electrical mechanics for a full-time, 12-month consulting assignment in the aerospace industry.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
As an Aircraft Mechanic, your expertise will directly contribute to the maintenance and performance of mission-critical aircraft. You'll help ensure operational excellence and flight readiness by performing advanced electrical and mechanical tasks to the highest standards of safety and precision.
Perform connector terminations on shielded wires, coaxial cables, and fiber optic wiring
Route harnesses and cables per detailed instructions
Seal, bond, wrap, and tie electrical assemblies
Interpret and work from engineering drawings, schematics, and technical orders
Install, modify, and inspect electrical wiring and assemblies
Troubleshoot complex avionics and comms/nav systems
Operate electric-powered lifts and handle hazardous materials as needed
Work in various environments: elevated platforms, confined spaces, and noisy conditions
Maintain certifications and licenses relevant to your duties
10+ years of experience in avionics systems, electronic theory, and shop practices
Strong proficiency with schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints
Extensive experience in component/wire installation, testing, and troubleshooting
Able to work all shifts (1st, 2nd & 3rd), including weekends and overtime
Physically able to perform duties (e.g., climbing ladders, lifting up to 35 lbs, working in confined spaces)
Experience with avionics and depot-level maintenance
FAA Airframe and/or Power Plant certification
Ability to operate forklifts, cranes, and other powered elevating equipment
