Pay Rate: $33.38/hr - $55.00/HR (commensurate with experience)
PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a detail-driven and mission-focused Project Engineer to support Environmental Control and Life Support System (ECLSS) hardware on NASA's Orion program—the next chapter in human space exploration. Your expertise will help guide systems that will carry astronauts farther than ever before.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
As a Project Engineer, you’ll support critical engineering efforts in hardware development, assembly, and qualification by:
Collaborating closely with Orion Platform and Program Chief Engineers.
Leading Engineering Integrated Project Teams (IPTs) for design and development activities.
Supporting procurement, assembly, and testing of production hardware.
Responding to supplier issues, resolving quality notifications, and managing changes.
Dispositioning non-conforming material in SAP and handling Supplier Requests for Information (SRIs).
Leading failure investigations, determining root causes, and implementing corrective actions.
Representing engineering at customer and supplier meetings.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
3–5 years of relevant experience in aerospace or complex systems engineering.
Ability to work both independently and in integrated teams with a high level of accountability.
Experience in Project Management, Earned Value (EV), or Control Account Management.
Familiarity with Change Management, Risk & Opportunity Management.
Experience with SAP, Engineering Change Notices, SRIs, and Quality Notifications.
Skilled in conducting failure investigations and implementing root cause/corrective actions.
Understanding of NASA or other space program requirements.
