High Performance Chassis Designer
PDS Tech Commercial is looking for a High Performance Chassis Designer for our motorsport client in Santa Clarita.

Or how about… parts: Wheels/Tires, Springs, Dampers, Antiroll Bars, Suspension Arms, Mounts & Bushings, Brake System Components (Calipers/Pads/Discs/Lines), Body Structure Reinforcement and Underbody Protection or Equipment Racks?
Requires 5-7 years of direct design experience
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Key Responsibilities:
Design & Analysis: Lead the design and analysis of race car chassis, suspension, and mechanical systems. Create and evaluate design concepts, CAD models, and detailed drawings.
Project Leadership: Plan and complete engineering projects, ensuring adherence to design specifications, timelines, and performance standards.
CAD Expertise: Utilize CAD software to model race car components, with a focus on parametric modeling to enhance design accuracy and functionality.
Engineering Mentorship: Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on design best practices, project management, and technical problem-solving.
Design Changes & Specifications: Evaluate and implement design changes, release updated drawings, and ensure compliance with engineering principles and company objectives.
Testing & Analysis: Interpret test results and use data to refine designs, ensuring high-quality performance and safety standards are met.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other engineering teams to ensure design integrity across all vehicle systems.
Required Qualifications:
Experience: 5-7 years of direct design experience in motorsport vehicles and systems, with a strong focus on chassis and suspension design.
CAD Proficiency: Extensive experience with CAD software for modeling race car components. Parametric modeling experience is highly desirable.
Design Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to assess and optimize design concepts, ensuring performance, safety, and manufacturability.
Technical Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of race car chassis, suspension, and mechanical systems.
Engineering Principles: Solid grounding in engineering principles, including raw material specifications, machining, and treatment processes.
Project Management: Strong organizational and project management skills to lead design efforts, coordinate development activities, and resolve engineering and test issues.
Problem-Solving & Communication: Excellent data analysis, problem-solving, and communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
Raw Material Expertise: In-depth knowledge of raw material specifications and engineering codes.
Experience with Prototyping: Familiarity with prototype machining, casting, and treatment processes.
Mechanical & Cost Calculation: Knowledge of mechanical cost calculation processes, ensuring designs are cost-effective while meeting performance criteria.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. of vehicle components during hands-on design and testing phases.
Pay range of $100K - $130K Annually
