Minimum Qualifications/Education (or equivalent combination of experience and education):
B.S and/or M.S Mechanical Engineer or related discipline.
Experience: At least 5 years R&D or new product design experience preferably in development of small electro-mechanical actuation or robotic systems.
No Foreign Nationals: U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residents required.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide variety of tasks necessary to develop advanced, miniature, electro-mechanical control systems for aerospace systems and human physiological monitoring. These tasks include, but are not limited to:
As a primary member of the team, devise and propose innovative solutions to customer requirements;
Product design, development and build of miniature sensors, actuators, and electronic housings.
Hands-on development for assembly and packaging for small actuation and sensor systems in harsh environments;
Finite element analyses for structural and mechanical components and assemblies;
Design and build test platforms for concepts, components, and assemblies to validate performance;
Detailed documentation of procedures, results, and ideas; writing progress reports;
Nurture customer relationships to understand and guide requirements;
Develop proposals to meet requirements of RFPs.
Required Skills:
The candidate must possess the following:
Must have a M.S. degree or greater (Ph.D. preferred) in mechanical, aerospace engineering or equivalent;
At least 5 years R&D or new product design experience preferably in miniature mechanical design and device packaging.
A track record of professional accomplishment;
Experience in working with a multi-disciplinary team;
Experience managing several simultaneous projects/priorities to completion, on-time, on-budget;
Outstanding written and oral communication skills;
Willingness to work evenings/weekends if required to accomplish goals;
Expert knowledge of 3D modeling/CAD, Structural FEA (Static and transient analyses);
