Mechanical Engineer (ProE Designer)

Description:
My client is looking for a Mechanical Engineer (ProE Designer) for a space application. This is a 5+ month contract position. Location is the Denver Tech Center.

Here is the job description:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

10+ years experience in Mechanical Design
Minimum of last 4 years working with Pro/E and Wildfire
Space Environment design experience a must.
Good working knowledge in machine shop practices and processing.
Very experienced in both Geometric Tolerances (GMT) and ANSI drafting standards.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Excellent Verbal and written communication
Knowledge of Space Avionics design as a Electronics Packaging Designer
Ability to work in an environment where requirements are changing, thus requiring redesigns.
Knowledge of Pro-E, and Microsoft products (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) software is preferred.
Knowledge of stress and thermal environments as related to Electronic Packaging in a Space Environment.


TASKS:

Assist in completing mechanical design of Launch Vehicle Power and Control Avionics units
Responsible for working with the PWB designer, Thermal and Stress analyst in developing a mechanical and printed wiring board design that satisfies the design specification requirements.
Directly interface with the Electrical Engineer, PWB Engineer, and Packaging Engineer to ensure all mechanical aspects of designs meet specifications.
Provide engineering documentation support (drafting) to produce engineering that meets the company standards. Approximately 40-50 items will require to be documented, this includes mechanical details that will be built at various machine shops and include assembly drawings/documentation to be used by a subcontractor for the build, test, qualification, and delivery of production hardware.


The location is Denver Tech Center.


The rate is open. The duration is 5+ months.
