Design Project Specialist - Exploration Upper Stage

Description:
Candidate will provide engineering and analysis for the SLS program. Candidate will provide overall project management of the Product Definition Layout Process (PDLP) criteria for one or more design layouts. Will apply continuous process improvement to the PDLP and associated management and business processes. Will act as the primary POC for assigned layouts and their associated stakeholders and assists the Layout Lead accomplishing the layout/PDLP objectives. May lead other DPS and layout personnel. Will assist the LDL in ensuring the implementation of PDLP criteria such as: the identification of manufacturing and tooling interfaces, implementation of Design Decision Memos (DDM), Internal Revision Records (IRR), Engineering Change Proposals (ECP), implementation of the Requirements Verification Matrix, and incorporation of supplier models and Envelop Drawings (ED) and adherence to the CAD standards for both Stages and for Supplier and Government Funded (GFX) models. Candidate will develop and manage layout closure and artifact packages. Will orchestrate layout meeting notices and sub-meetings, records and distributes meeting minutes, collects actions and tracks to closure. Candidate will manage the documentation and closure plans for layout actions and Management Emphasis Tracking (METs). Will ensure that engineering documentation comply with program processes and templates. Tracks layout artifacts through the signature process, identifies and resolves document release roadblocks, and expedites release signatures. Manages the engineering release revision traffic and the commitment process as it applies to the EUS/SLS change board (PCCB) and Integrated Change Control Board (ICCB). Manages the status and visibility of layout documents and drawing releases within the Program change management systems and develops and tracks drawing release metrics and provides status to the EUS Structural Design Manager.

Required: Candidate must have 5-9 years of experience. Must be able to obtain access to NASA facilities. Must be able to pass drug test and background check prior to the start of work. Must be a United States Citizen.

Desired: Candidate is desired to possess a Bachelor's degree.
