Job Description

Function: The Supply Specialist is primarily responsible for placement of Purchase Orders that will meet Moog’s requirements for cost, quality and delivery objectives. The processes used to accomplish this task must be compliant with the documented systems and procedures. Relationship management both internal and external is key to the success of the role e.g. the candidate must be capable of changing the supplier’s priorities while maintaining a positive relationship. The Supply Specialist will report to the Site Manager/Lead, Site Supply Chain Manager, Commodity Manager, Commodity Lead and Commodity Director along with the Supply Specialist, and the administrative staff.

Essential job functions:
1. Processes requisitions (paper or electronic) to purchase orders on time to ensure Quality, Cost Delivery requirements are met.,
2. Tactical sourcing and supplier management activity such as: resolving pricing issues, quality issues, drawing issues to support quality, cost, delivery goals ,
3. Manage open contracts or orders very closely on a daily/weekly basis to ensure on time delivery of goods and services and alignment to MRP.,
4. Communicate and escalate (as appropriate) issues in a timely manner to internal customers ,
5. Responsible for maintaining Lead times, proper part coding and provides input to BOM structure.,
6. Provide pricing information that will be used to support cost proposals being made to Moog customers.,
7. Use of a number of software tools such as Rapid Response, MBS, TIPQA Altogather to assess status of orderbooks, NC’s, CA’s, SRIDS, ,
8. Reduce admin by supporting lean initiatives such as – use of Vendor Schedule, EPO, barcoding etc.,
9. Effectively execute, monitor and support ‘make’ to ‘buy’ and ‘buy’ to ‘buy’ transitions with no disruption to internal or external customers

Required skills: The candidate will be expected to complete the procurement process in a timely fashion. This requires knowledge of the supply base, current pricing, overall operational requirements. The candidate will be adaptable to the future state and growth of the Supply Chain with occasional travel to suppliers. They will also be expected to take a multifaceted approach in prioritizing several initiatives simultaneously while promoting teamwork and professionalism. Training and support across other sites/divisions may be required to maintain and promote standardization of processes and procedures.

Scope: Exercises Control:
Annual Purchases: US$ 5 to 10 Million
Manage 40 to 50 Suppliers
Manage 300 to 700 open Purchase orders on a continuous basis

Education:
• Bachelor’s degree (vocational, professional, or advanced) In the field of supply management, engineering, business
• Desirable qualifications would include Certification in Purchasing, Production and Inventory Control, Supply Chain Management
Additional education and a Master’s Degree in Business, Engineering
