Test Planning and Execution - Systems Engineer

The Skunk Works (Lockheed Martin Advanced Development Programs) is looking for world class talent in Systems Integration and Test (I&T) Engineering to be a part of a team that will carry on our 75 year tradition making history in advanced aircraft development.
Candidate will join a Vehicle Systems Test Planning and Execution Team within an I&T Organization responsible for the integration and test of Vehicle Systems capabilities, and must be a systems-thinker. Primary environments include simulation laboratories but may also include flight test or flying test bed environments. Utilizing vehicle systems requirements and model based design, the candidate will assist in the development of test requirements, plans, and procedures. Candidate will work as a member of a multidisciplinary Agile thread teams responsible for developing capabilities from cradle to grave. Candidate will execute integration and test activities in a lab environment, evaluate vehicle systems functionality, document results, assist SW Developers and Subsystem SMEs with diagnosis/troubleshooting, and support the constant adherence to a Digital Thread. Candidate will be required to fully embrace and help champion widespread system level test automation. Candidate must also be comfortable serving as a system test liaison to representatives from multiple domains in multiple peripheral and adopting organizations.

An ideal candidate will be familiar with how modern tactical aircraft are used in operational environments, comprehend the fundamentals of safety critical software systems, and have a strong background in meticulously testing capabilities at the system of systems levels. Candidate must also have the communication and leadership ability to assist a team of multidisciplinary engineers to quickly navigate from an envisioned future concept to a comprehensive set of Vehicle Systems-Level test procedures that ensure requirements fulfillment and SW stability/reliability. External and customer interaction will be required. Candidate must be open-minded to embracing new approaches to continuously integrating, testing, and delivering aviation systems relative to legacy waterfall programs. Candidate should expect to be asked at times to conduct business in vastly revolutionary ways than to which they are accustomed. Candidate must have strong technical background, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, in-depth understanding of military aircraft functionality, and demonstrated integration and test experience.

The successful candidate will need to pass a security screening before interview. Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access and a security clearance.

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelors or Above Degree in Engineering/Technical Discipline
• Minimum Active Secret Clearance w/ last completed investigation in last 5 years
• Working Knowledge of Aircraft Systems and Familiarity with the Operational Use of a Modern Tactical Airborne Platform
• Strong oral and written communication skills needed to lead multidisciplinary teams through planning and testing.

Desired Qualifications
• Experience with Systems Integration and Test
• Proven Experience Developing and Executing Test Plans and Procedures
• Experience with verification, integration and test processes, and strong lab skills
• Experience with test automation
• Experience with Agile SW Development and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)
• A working knowledge of software development, avionics, IT/Infrastructure, systems engineering, or aviation could all prove useful in the collaboration with surrounding disciplines
• Experience with Pilot-in-the-Loop Simulation/Experimentation a plus
• Some level of understanding of Linux with the ability/willingness for on-the-job growth in experience
• First-hand experience coding software a plus for this System Level Test Position
• Experience with GitLab, Atlassian, Ansible, Cucumber Test, 3DX, qTest, C++, XML, or Python a plus
• Current Security+ Certification a plus
• Experience with Rhapsody, MagicDraw, or other model-based software development a plus
• Active Top Secret Clearance w/ last completed investigation in last 5 years
• Willingness for occasional travel (not expected regularly)
