Flammability Engineer

Description:
1. Provides intermediate 3D engineering analysis in support of interior completions or modifications
2. Prepares and presents intermediate presentations
3. Prepares flammability testing plans, reports and related documents in support of interior completions or modifications
4. Serves as liaison with test houses to conduct flammability testing
5. Prepares basic test plans in support of interior completion or modification regulatory compliance
6. Provides basic technical guidance and engineering disposition to department
7. Coordinate design solutions with regulatory approval authorities
8. Drives positive engineering culture, leads by example and motivates others
9. Mentors less experienced engineers and facilitates growth personally and professionally
10. Perform other duties as assigned.
11. Facilitates the preparation of test samples and obtain samples prepared by material suppliers
12. Coordinates with test witnesses and conducts flammability testing

Minimum Qualifications, Education, Experience
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Mechanical Engineering or the equivalent
2. 2 years of experience working in aerospace
3. Valid Passport with the ability to travel in and out of the United States

Required Skills and Abilities
1. Intermediate understanding of engineering principles
2. Intermediate knowledge of aircraft installations
3. Intermediate understanding of FAA/EASA Part 25 regulations
4. Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word / VBA
5. Intermediate experience with 2D/3D Computer Aided Drafting/Design (AutoCAD preferred, SolidWorks preferred)
6. Knowledge of documentation standards
7. Ability to convey/present written/verbal intermediate technical concepts
8. Strong communication and problem-solving skills
9. Strong time-management and organizational skills

Preferred Skills and Abilities
1. Understanding of STC process
2. Understanding of company processes/procedures
3. Familiarity with airframe manufacturer customer portals (AirbusWorld, MyBoeingFleet, etc.)
