Equipment & Tool Engineer 3

Description:
Evaluates program and project requirements, develops complex equipment and tooling concepts and designs solutions for the Production System. Compiles and analyzes technical data to determine the effects on product engineering design and rate estimates, identifies robotics, automation or technology recommendations and system integration for equipment and tooling. Ensures compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors and regulatory requirements. Validates contractual performance milestones, maintains configuration control, conducts reviews, prepares plans for productions readiness, preventative maintenance, and spares. Conducts training for Production and Maintenance personnel. Develops and implements work-arounds and maintains configuration of hardware, software and documentation. Performs studies and make recommendation for disposition of assets.

Engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing solutions within the production system that spans multiple asset classifications including, but not limited to, multi-program Standard Tools, program specific Contract Tools, Capital Equipment, and Shop Hardware. The Equipment & Tool Engineer will collaborate with project stakeholders for concurrence across multiple disciplines and organizations. The engineer will navigate the entire lifecycle management of production assets from conceptual design and requirements definition through configuration control and retirement. In addition to project management and asset design, the engineer will also serve as a liaison to the manufacturing teams in order to resolve emergent issues within the production system, such as repairing or replacing a damaged tool.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Engineering; Mechanical preferred, but will consider other fields with experience
- Must be able to work onsite at North Charleston location

Experience:
- 5-9 years related experience; does not need to be aerospace
- CATIA
