Job Title: Final Line Mechanic II

Job Type: Full Time; Contract (12 months)

Location: Savannah, GA

Schedule: 1st Shift

Pay Rate: $28.75 per hour

In a team-oriented work environment, install parts and components, lines, cables, etc. in the area assigned using required tools and appropriate prints, specifications, and operational requirements to complete work assigned through final inspection and assure conformance to specifications. May assist in instructing or mentoring junior mechanics. As a final line mechanic, you can expect to:

• Assemble, install, and adjustment to aircraft structure parts and system components. Rig control cables, sectors, linkages, control surfaces, landing gear and doors, engines, cowls, aircraft entry doors, and associated parts and hardware.

• Install system lines, valves, ducts, and associated parts and hardware. Work to ensure a leak-free system.

• Assist in troubleshooting mechanical and structural problems to facilitate and perform basic repairs.

• Check your own work and may be required to check the work of junior mechanics to ensure a defect-free installation before final inspection.

• Maintain and use all logs and records such as MIR sheets, DMTs, Crabs, PCOs, etc.

• In support of aircraft certification and final phase testing, may include flight tests on aircraft as required.

What makes me right for this role?

• 3 years of aerospace/aviation experience or equivalent mechanical experience, such as auto mechanics, heavy equipment, etc. An A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license is preferred.

• High School Diploma or GED required.

• Requires ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and schematic diagrams and use all tools required to do the job.

• Must be skilled in close tolerance work and have knowledge of use of special tools and ability to perform close tolerance work such as drilling, reaming, ship fitting parts, etc.

  • Ability to operate hydraulic mule pumps, fixtures, and jigs.

  • Previous experience with power tools, measurement calipers, manufacturing operations, and working knowledge of software-based installations (Solumina, CATIA, My3D viewer), preferred.
