Client Commercial Airplanes is seeking a Senior-Career (4) Equipment & Tooling Engineer in North Charleston, SC.
This position supports Client South Carolina 787 Aft Body, Mid Body, and Final Assembly Business Units with Equipment & Tool Engineering work statement.

Primary Responsibilities:
Evaluates program and project requirements, develops complex equipment and tooling concepts, and designs solutions for the Production System.
Compiles and analyzes technical data to determine the effects on product engineering design and rate estimates, identifies robotics, automation, or technology recommendations, and system integration for equipment and tooling.
Ensures compliance with safety, capability, reliability, ergonomic factors, and regulatory requirements.
Validates contractual performance milestones, maintains configuration control, conducts reviews, and prepares plans for productions readiness, preventative maintenance, and spares.
Conducts training for Production and Maintenance personnel.
Develops and implements work-arounds and maintains the hardware, software, and documentation configuration.
Performs studies and makes a recommendation for disposition of assets.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
Advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Project assignments will be dependent upon candidate's primary skill set and experience tool design, stress analysis, or software / metrology
Proficiency in Model-Based Definition and Drawing-Based Definition utilizing CATIA V5 with configuration management in ENOVIA
Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Working knowledge with any one or more of the following programming languages C#, Python, Javascript
Experience with stress analysis hand calculations and results validation with any one or more of the following programs - RISA, Nastran, Abaqus, Ansys, Autodesk
Familiarity with metrology equipment and software, such as SpatialAnalyzer
Experience providing product definitions and technical support to groups, suppliers, and external customers throughout the product lifecycle.
Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience).
In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
