Description: PDS Tech is seeking a Material Analyst for an open position in Savannah, GA.
Under limited direction, perform the planning activities associated with Product Support Global inventories. Maintain and monitor accurate inventories, generate forecasts and establish inventory levels that ensure specified service levels are realized both domestically and internationally.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Functions: 1. Contribute to the management and planning of a global parts portfolio in terms of fill rate and optimum inventory levels. 2. Solely requisition and authorize purchase of parts in assigned portfolio. 3. Maintain accountability for availability of parts globally. 4. Use judgment, experience, and materials management knowledge to perform within assigned performance metrics (fill rate, days to supply, turn rate, stock outs, back order turn rate and target service level). 5. Evaluate forecasts through various inputs and make adjustments as needed, taking into consideration extrinsic requirements, business, and volatility and forecast error that will yield an accurate forecast of optimum inventory levels to specified service level goals. 6. Analyze replenishment order quantities and service stock quantities to ensure service level goals will be realized as well being mindful of financial impact of inventory dollars. 7. Review the projected position for assigned aircraft components and create replenishment plan that highlights future inventory imbalance and take appropriate action to balance inventory levels. 8. Support the planning and allocation of parts throughout the Product Support Global Distribution Network. Create a replenishment and deployment schedule that will achieve customer service levels and business inventory investment plans at domestic & international facilities. 9. Ensure all data elements which impact the planning and supply chain are maintained appropriately. (Data elements - lead times, units of measure, aircraft model configuration, alternate parts, engineering changes, source data and effectivities.) 10. Prepare recommendations for changes to supply chain tactical plans in response to changing business events and internal process and supplier base. 11. Review engineering drawings, vendor part catalogs, and purchased on assembly items to determine initial spares requirements in support of new and existing product lines. 12. Assist in determining whether excess inventory is subject to re-distribution or disposal. Maintain interface with other functional areas to support and formulate resolutions of problems relating to shortages, customer provisioning, service center demand, and Over the Counter Sales. 13. Coordinate with Service and Custom Engineering to determine initial requirements for newly designed aircraft service changes. 14. Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports pertaining to current status of group/individual workload, inventory levels, and overall customer fill rate.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Business Administration or related curriculum or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Two (2) years experience in materials management. See Other Requirements in Job Description.
Other Requirements: 1. Experience in statistical demand forecasting, time-phased replenishment planning, and managing inventories across distribution networks. 2. Corridor experience strongly preferred. 3. Must be able to read or be willing to learn how to interpret blueprints. 4. Knowledge of procurement procedures and manufacturing and distribution principles for both purchased and in house manufactured parts. 5. Ability to operate personal computers; experience with Microsoft Windows/Windows. Must be proficient in Microsoft Products such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Unique Skills: Intermediate excel and powerpoint experience. Corridor experience preferred.
