Job Summary:
The Senior Systems Engineer will provide advisory and assistance support to the Air Force Technical Applications Center (AFTAC) National Technical Nuclear Forensics (NTNF) program to advance capabilities to collect forensic analysis on nuclear and other radioactive materials.

Job Description:
Roles and Responsibilities
• Apply and interpret the formal Systems Engineering processes
• Conduct functional configuration audits
• Review software testing to ensure requirements traceability
• Support acquisition and sustainment of computer systems and software development, testing, and evaluation of improvements to systems and equipment
• Review program schedule, program progress, and compliance with entry/exit criteria
• Review Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and Configuration Change Proposals (CCPs)
• Participate in software testing and review of associated test reports
• Develop computer software/hardware requirements packages and acquisitions
• Provide budget estimations and technical assistance for research and development projects
• Support management of Department of Defense (DoD) research programs and capabilities
• Provide technical and acquisition tasks in support of capabilities and systems enabling the NTNF programmatic and technical team
• Attend meetings and teleconferences, prepare briefings and position papers, and identify potential opportunities or issues with systems
• Support the development, installation, integration, testing, and sustainment of new and existing systems
• Support information exchange event

Qualifications and Education Requirements
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience performing tasks similar to those above
• General knowledge of FORTRAN, C, C++, Python, and Java programming languages
• Working knowledge of UNIX
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills necessary to communicate with executives
• Ability to apply Defense Acquisition Guidebook, Policies, Directives, Regulations, and Laws
• General experience using Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Experience in deriving and marking classified documents according to the National Industrial Security Program (NISPOM) and security classification guides; Maintaining the protection and integrity of classified information

• Master’s Degree with 5+ years’ experience or a Bachelor’s Degree with 10+ years’ experience in an engineering discipline with systems engineering experience or preferably, a systems engineering degree.
