Quality Engineer

PDS Tech, Inc. is seeking a candidate for the Program Quality Engineer position located in Shelton, CT. 
Job Description (Basic Duties and Responsibilities): 
This is a Program Quality Engineer (QE) position supporting the Helicopter Program in Shelton, CT. The QE will be expected to communicate between team members, Sr Management and in some cases, customer counterparts to provide assurance of contractual and specification requirements. In this role, the QE will: 
  • Key responsibility is resolve all quality issues related to CMHP aircraft Block-2 delivery 
  • Lead/coordinate efforts to perform root cause and corrective action activity on both manufactured and supplier parts; work Engineering IPT for design improvement recommendation based on RRCA. 
  • Drive product and process improvements for military programs in all phases of production and acceptance 
  • Contribute to Integrated Product Team (IPT) initiatives such as FRCAS/SIR events 
  • Support Product Quality investigations 
  • Discuss deviations/non-conformances at different levels within the organization 
  • Provide program support as required by program management and the Program Quality manager 
  • Perform comprehensive analyses and prepare reports and presentations for IPT and customer review. 
  • nteract with design engineering, manufacturing engineering, operations, and suppliers 
  • Represent Program Quality on various program related teams 
  • Provide Quality assurance support to program Aftermarket service 
  • Aircraft build records and logbook audit and delivery to customer. This task requires frequent travel to WPB, FL and Coatesville, PA. 
  • Discrepancy management and disposition/tracking. 

Experience Preferred: 
  • The ideal candidate will have Engineering and/or Quality aerospace manufacturing and aircraft maintenance experience and: 
  • Strong in Corrective action investigation and documentation skills 
  • Possess ability to understand and communicate typical engineering and manufacturing concepts and processes 
  • Have knowledge and experience of inspection processes and methods, as well as the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and other engineering technical data required 
  • Must have interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with military program customers 
  • Must be organized and detail oriented, have ability to multi-task in a matrix reporting structure. 
  • The ability to analyze data for trends with the ability to identify effective root cause and corrective action using ACE tools as required. 
  • Preferred on Sikorsky engineering, operation, and Quality assurance processes. 
  • Must be able to understand aircraft log books documentation and experience working with logs and records. 
  • Experience with aircraft modification engineering and Quality Assurance processes. Overhaul and repair process experience 
  • Aircraft maintenance and flight operations knowledge 
  • Experience in dealing with aircraft 


  • Bachelor degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Quality, Aerospace or related field required
