Seat Design Engineer 3

Description:
A Seat Design Engineer 3 job in Everett, WA is currently available through Belcan. In this Seat Design Engineer 3 role, you will be responsible for supporting Lead Engineers and/or senior level Engineers in the research, design and substantiation of the mechanical seat design within the Seat Engineering department utilizing established modeling and drafting standards. The Seat Design Engineer (SDE) 3 will support design and development of engineering packages based on customer and OEM requirements for production, retrofit applications and product development.

Seat Design Engineer 3 duties:

* Works under the direction of an experienced engineer, maintains or modifies basic mechanical
seat assemblies or components based on defined requirements using approved processes and
tools.
* Participates in teams to support the development of designs. Supports the documentation of
design implementation.
* Obtain, interpret, and analyze OEM airplane seat install or layout drawings using approved
processes and tools.
* Provides liaison support for assigned duties to manufacturing and/or in-service issues.
* Troubleshoots basic mechanical seat systems problems.
* Actively support engineering department goals and initiatives.
* Coordinate with other departments as necessary.
* Utilize internal drawing/document standards per customer or regulatory agency requirements.
* Perform engineering design checks and sign documents, with periodical technical guidance from
mentor and lead.
* Perform engineering design analysis (such as preliminary Stress analysis or Kinematics
Analysis), design validation (such as validate analysis models against test data) and task scope
(such as work scope validation).
* Perform engineering design/analysis with minimum technical guidance.
* Some domestic or international travel may be required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

* BS degree Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related Engineering field (4-6
years' experience) or equivalent working experience (12 years minimum in an aerospace related
field).
* Drafting skills in CATIA V5 (or higher) and/or Solidworks preferred.
* Must be able to provide complicated lay-outs and program design studies.
* Must be able to interact successfully with engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing
departments.
* Must be able to function as part of a design team.
* Thorough understanding of manufacturing processes preferred.
* Understanding of Boeing/Aircraft/SAE Seat Design Standards/Requirements
