Entry Level Structural Analyst

Description:
An Entry Level Structures Engineer in Lexington, KY OR Cincinnati, OH is currently available at Belcan. As an Entry Level Structures Engineer, you will evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to solve problems. Entry Level Structures Engineers work on interdisciplinary teams to support the design and analysis of a wide variety of aerospace components during the concept, design, and production phases as well as any modification efforts.

Principal Responsibilities for an Entry Level Structures Engineer include but not limited to the following:
· Perform structural analyses using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) as well as classical hand stress analysis methods
· Perform structural, modal, and fatigue assessments
· Participate in analysis of new designs and modifications of existing designs
· Create structural analysis result summary presentations and reports
· Interact with Belcan's customers
Requirements for the role include:
· Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering from an accredited institution
· 0-1 years of experience
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
· Good communication skills
· Ability to work in a team
· Important knowledge and experience needed for this role includes:
o Interest in aviation and aerospace applications
o Exposure to finite element software and analysis
o Understanding of fundamental hand calculations for stress analysis
o Ability to learn new tools and concepts quickly
o Experience writing analysis reports
o Experience making presentations in front of small audiences
· Due to the nature of the work, all new hires for this position must be U.S. Citizens

Desired skills include:
· Proficiency in Finite Element Analysis software (FEMAP/PATRAN/Hypermesh/ANSYS)
· Aptitude for writing small computer programs (macros)
· Strong time management skills
· Experience/Internship as a Structures Engineer is a plus, preferably in the aerospace industry
