Electrical Engineer 2 - WA

Chipton-Ross is seeking an Electrical Engineer 2 located in Bingen, WA

Analyzes and interprets electrical system/subsystem requirements and specifications. Develops requirements and specifications for printed circuit board assemblies. Performs risk assessments and makes mitigation recommendations. Decomposes system requirements. Creates electronic hardware module-level architectures. Develops detailed electrical hardware and firmware designs. Identifies electronic hardware interface controls conflicts and makes recommendations. Creates electronic hardware documentation release packages. Develops and performs verification and validation procedures for electronic hardware components. Conducts testing/ analysis of avionics/electrical components, equipment, and systems. Documents technical performance metrics. Diagnoses malfunctions in existing products and makes design improvements and/or modifications.

"Ability to analyze problems (troubleshooting, fault isolation, repair, modification, or redesign) of assigned end items to support the design, development and modification of company products using knowledge of engineering disciplines (ME, EE, etc.).
"Knowledge of digital circuit design parameters (e.g., throughput, rise time, clock frequencies, propagation delay) and hardware description languages (e.g., Hardware Description Language [HDL], Verilog). Knowledge of computer hardware and software components (e.g., processors, memory, interfaces, high order languages), and characteristics (e.g., throughput, processing architecture, timing, capacity).
"Knowledge of electrical engineering theories (e.g., Kirchhoff's Law, Ohm's Law, lighting, power factor, control theory), formula selection (e.g., room cavity ratios, short-circuit, voltage drop, motor counts, capacitor, harmonic correction, load calculations), and methods (e.g., relay coordination, root cause analysis).
"Knowledge of Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) considerations with respect to electrical/electronic design (e.g., wire harness design, grounding and shielding design techniques, lightning protection).
"Exercises engineering judgment in developing appropriate decisions considering decision criteria, implications, and possible consequences, to ensure product design integrity. Demonstrates understanding of the applicable scientific and engineering knowledge and involves others in obtaining information for the engineering decision-making process.
"Knowledge of various engineering disciplines such as electrical, mechanical, and systems. The ability to communicate with technical personnel from multiple skill areas and functions to evaluate technical information and issues impacting design, production, and support of products, services, or other deliverables.

This job is limited to employees who, in the performance of their assigned work, regularly apply engineering disciplines to the research, design, development, test, and evaluation of company products, facilities, or manufacturing process and have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree of Science from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. Typical experience: 2-4 years in an engineering classification with a Bachelor's degree or 0-2 year's experience in an engineering classification with a Master's degree.
