Senior Systems Engineer

Description:
Job Summary:

Our client is the industry leader in Visible and Infra-Red sensor circuits with the largest array formats, smallest pixels, lowest noise, and highest dynamic range performance. We have a team of 30+ IC design experts and over 30 years of experience designing state-of-the-art ROICs. Our designs include low-power and low-noise on-chip analog-signal conditioning circuits, phase-locked loops (PLLs), analog-to-digital converters (ADCs), SRAM, digital image processing, and GHz output serializers. We are looking for talented analog mixed-signal IC designers to help develop the next generation ROICs.

Job Description: Candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and verification of ROICs for visible and infrared focal plane arrays. • Develop IC design concept, architecture, floor plan, logic blocks, and performance analysis. • Perform digital and analog design, timing design, and detailed simulations. • Analog design and full custom IC cell layout. • IC device test support to provide assistance (as required) to test engineering to perform test verification.

Required Skills: Key skills required are the ability to design a mixed-signal ROIC, including the analog signal chain, digital timing and image processing, and low-power 12 to 14 bit on-chip ADCs. Candidate must be able to evaluate all aspects of the process flow from high-level design to synthesis, place and route, timing, and power consumption. • Experience in CMOS IC design with industry standard design flow. Applicant needs to have a strong knowledge of semiconductor device physics, semiconductor processing, mixed-signal IC design, simulation, layout, and testing. Expertise with IC design flows, CAD tools, and statistical design is required. • Experience with readout integrated circuit (ROIC) for imagers is desired • Experience in ADC, PLL, SERDES design is a plus. • Excellent presentation, documentation, and communication skills.

Required Education:

MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.

Desired Education: PhD in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience

Desired Skills:

Expertise of high-end design tools for circuit simulations, noise analysis, full custom layout and layout automation, and DRC/LVS verification is desired. Experience with Cadence tools is a plus. Experience with LVDS transmitters and receivers, low-noise and low-power amplifiers, and radiation tolerant design techniques is desirable. Experience with the design of ROICs for cryogenic temperatures and radiation hardening is desirable.

This position requires the ability to pass a background check and drug screening prior to employment.

In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
