Quality Engineer

Description:
A Quality Engineer job is currently available at Belcan in Baltimore, MD. This is a full time, 6-month contract position. Great matching candidates will have proficient work history in supplier quality engineering and knowledge in AS9102 requirements. You will be reviewing & approving first articles for compliance with engineering specifications and standards.

Quality Engineer job duties:
* Review and approve supplier AS9102 First Articles for compliance and completion to the PO, engineering drawing, engineering specifications and AS9102 requirements.
* Work with the Supplier Quality Department along with the supplier to correct / resolve issues with the FAIs to support production need.
* Generate First Article and Delta First Article Inspection reports.
* Provide support and assist inspection personnel while performing First Article inspections. Maintain / Manage First Article Inspection open / completion database.
* Accurately document defects and create pictorial presentations for MRB items requiring customer disposition.
* Investigate Root Cause and address Corrective Action for MRB items prior to submittal to customer.
* Chair the corrective action board to drive Zero Defect Initiatives (ZDI).

Qualifications:
* 5+ years of quality engineering experience specifically within the aerospace & defense industries.
* AS or BS degree in Engineering or similar discipline
* Ability to effectively communication & interface with suppliers, customers, and internal partners
* Legal authorization to work in the US required
