Mechanical Design Engineer – Level 2

Description:
Location: Owego, NY
Rate: $34.00/HR
Duration: 3 month contract
Overtime: Possible
Per Diem Split: Yes (if eligible)

Job Description
- Researches, plans, designs and develops mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, thermal hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy.
- Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines.
- Due to the variety of the work products, the candidate will need a flexible and adaptable skill set.
- This position will perform detailed engineering design and analysis roles.
- The mechanical engineer will assist in multi-functional product development for ruggedized military processing solutions, including mechanical chassis and circuit card modeling, thermal analysis and platform system integration.
- Must be comfortable within a rapid development environment; able to execute within short timelines and a given budget.
- Attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, ability to multitask, good organizational skills, computer literacy, and a demonstrated ability to thrive in a team environment.

Skill/Experience/Education
Mandatory
- Creo 4,
- GD&T knowledge
- 5 years of mechanical design knowledge
- BS or MS degree in mechanical design.

Desired
- EPDM knowledge
