Design and Analysis Engineer 4

Location: Everett, WA/Multiple locations
Duration: 12 months with the possibility of extension

Description:
Leads work with customers tdevelop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements.
Leads and coordinates work tanalyze and translate requirements intsystem architecture, hardware and software designs and interface specifications.
Leads work ttest and validate tensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements.
Oversees the team that monitors supplier performance tensure system integration and compliance with requirements.
Solves problems concerning and provides other support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.
Researches technology advances for potential application tcompany business needs. Makes recommendations for technology investments.

Position Responsibilities:
Develop and validate hardware and software system functional and software requirements
Support the design of hardware, software and interface specifications
Tests and validates tensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements
Develop tests tevaluate system
Monitors supplier performance tensure system integration and compliance with requirements
Solves problems concerning fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle
Researches specific technology advances for potential application tcompany business needs
Lead development of key certification deliverables

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s degree or higher in an ABET accredited course of study in engineering, computer science or related field.
5+ years of experience in Avionics engineering.
3+ years of experience working with multiple internal or external stakeholders (i.e. business partner, customer, Finance, suppliers) in planning and executing projects

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited course of study in electrical, aerospace and computer engineering is preferred.
Avionics, Systems Engineering and/or FMS familiarity
10+ years of system engineering or project management experience
10+ years of experience in aerospace industry with Avionics, Flight Management System and Electrical Systems.
Experience working in development programs and developing avionics system requirements
Experience as a technical lead.
Experience with hardware and software design
Experience with model based development tools
Experience working with cross functional teams
Previous aerospace work experience
Piloting experience (private/commercial pilot’s license)
Familiarity with engineering processes and methods
Demonstrated project management skills
Knowledge of FAA / EASA certification
Strong passion or interest in aviation and space
Microsoft Flight Simulator/VATSIM experience (yes, the game)

Key Skills and Competencies:
Min 10 yrs experience in systems and avionics engineering
Flight Management experience - Guidance, Navigation, Datalink
Thrust Management experience
Experience with Systems testing, data analysis
Experience with Avionics Architecture, DO-178C avionics experience, DAL A or B systems
Airplane safety analysis - system safety analysis (FHA, FTA, FMEA)
Development Assurance – ARP4754A
Certification Expertise: E-UM credentials

Education / Experience:
Bachelor's and 9 or more years' experience, Master's with 7 or more years' experience or PhD with 4 or more years' experience.
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
