Supply Chain Manager -Aerospace Manufacturing

General Summary:
The Manager, Supply Chain Management will be responsible for management of the supply chain/procurement/purchasing functions of a commodity team. The role will provide management direction and support to an integrated sourcing selection team comprised of supplier development engineers/specialists, buyers, and contracts administrators for all aspects of the Supply Chain sourcing and procurement functions.

Duties and Responsibilities
Provides direct oversight for all aspects of high-dollar complex purchase agreement administration including preparing RFPs, negotiating terms and conditions, awarding and managing resultant purchase agreements.

  • Assigns day-to-day purchasing related tasks to program managers, buyers, and contract administrators.
  • Reviews and approves quote/RFP packages and POs; sourcing decisions; logistics; vendor identification and development; project management; contract negotiations.
  • Analyze complex cost proposals and must be able to determine reasonableness.
  • Engages suppliers effectively to achieve mutually beneficial terms and conditions in our agreements.
  • Conduct routine supplier business reviews, evaluating supplier performance and compliance.
  • Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
  • Interacts with company executive management and subcontractor management regarding highly complex requirements and issue resolution.
  • Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements as required by job duties.

Education, Work Experience, Certification and/or Licensure:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Manufacturing Engineer or Finance preferred.
  • Master's degree in a directly related field is a plus.
  • Direct related progressive experience within supply chain management with a minimum of 5 years' within leadership roles.
  • APICS certification is a plus.
  • Previous experience in the aviation/aerospace manufacturing industry or related industry which utilizes similar component manufacturing processes.
  • International sourcing experience and multi-lingual capabilities preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Familiarity with maintaining raw material inventory levels and implementing vendor/supplier owned inventory concepts.

  • Familiarity with FAA, FAR, TSA, and ITAR/EAR requirements and procedures.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Proficiency in en ERP systems; SAP preferred.
  • Ability to assisting engineering teams in defining requirements, preparing SOWS, evaluating proposal responses, leading negotiating teams and proposal support.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively negotiate business terms and conditions, identify risks and solution to mitigate or shift that risk.
  • Ability to effectively lead and influence a team to achieve organization and company goals.

Physical Requirements:

  • Incumbents may be routinely exposed to equipment operational noise heat-cold-dust, and/or aircraft equipment, parts, or fuel odors.

  • Incumbents may be required to stand, sit, squat, walk, bend, climb ladders, move, reach, or stretch for prolonged time periods with no restrictions, as required by job duties.
  • Work in a safe and professional manner while adhering to all regulatory requirements (FAA, OSHA, DOT, EPA, state, and Federal regulations, etc.).
  • Read, hear, speak, and see with no restrictions, as required by job •duties.
  • Comprehend and adhere to management directions and/or safety instructions with no restrictions.
  • Effectively communicate in Business English language.
  • Pull, push, carry, lift, or move items up to 10 lbs. throughout the work shift without assistance, as required by job duties.
  • Pull, push, carry, lift or move materials/people/items/equipment weighing up to 501bs or more during the work shift, with the use of Company provided "reach assistance technology" or "movement assist technology" (fork-lifts, pallet jacks, pulleys, dolly's, robotics reach equipment.
