Manufacturing Engineer - Production Engineering

General Summary:
Provide technical support for the Production Engineering Department. The Engineer must be able to develop documentation and procedures to ensure compliance specific to various company policies and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Audits and recommends improvements to the effectiveness and efficiency of the Production Engineering Department’s procedures and processes.
  • Manages and supports the implementation of enhancements to procedures, processes and operating tools. 
  • Serves as a Liaison with various external departments for progress and maintenance of processes while ensuring they align with all other relevant procedures and communicate awareness of changes.
  • Interfaces with multiple functional groups including: Systems Architects, Supply Chain, Quality and Production Operations to develop strategies for implementation of engineering, system, and process improvements.
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement and standardization; documents and prepares initiatives for process and/or engineering change to reduce cost and increase quality.
  • Participates in activities to enhance and support HACI Production teamwork, and provide an environment for all team members to participate in CI (Continuous Improvement).
  • Provides technical support and assistance with the development and improvement of methods, quality product design, cost, and technical issues of a complex manner as required.
  • Analyzes a variety of engineering data to help determine requirements to meet objectives.
  • Plans and documents various installation processes, tooling, equipment and quality control methods to optimize the manufacturing operation.
  • Provides data comparisons between the Engineering Bill of Materials (EBOM) to the Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM), Engineering Bill of Materials (EBOM) to the “As Built”.

Education, Experience, Certification and/or Licensure:
Bachelors' degree in Manufacturing Engineer or other related field strongly preferred.

Manufacturing experience.

Six Sigma Training or Lean Manufacturing experience a plus.

Configuration Management certification preferred.

  • Experience utilizing tools such as SAP, TeamCenter, MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Visio (or equivalent) PowerPoint and Project).
  • Experience as an advanced Excel user - visual basic/macro-writing skills a plus.
  • Ability to work in a diverse environment.
  • Working knowledge of aircraft assembly, sequencing, and manufacturing flow.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and/or specifications requirements.  

Physical Requirements:

  • Incumbents may be routinely exposed to equipment operational noise heat-cold-dust, and/or aircraft equipment, parts, or fuel odors.
  • Incumbents may be required to stand, sit, squat, walk, bend, move, reach, or stretch for prolonged time periods with no restrictions, as required by job duties.
  • Work in a safe and professional manner while adhering to all regulatory requirements (FAA, OSHA, DOT, EPA, State, and Federal regulations, etc.).
  • Read, hear, speak, and see with no restrictions, as required by job duties.
  • Comprehend and adhere to management directions and/or safety instructions with no restrictions.
  • Effectively communicate in Business English language.
  • Pull, push, carry, lift, or move items up to 10 lbs. throughout the work shift without assistance, as required by job duties.
  • Pull, push, carry, lift or move materials/items/equipment weighing up to 50lbs or more during the work shift, with the use of Company provided “reach assistance technology” or “movement assist technology” (fork-lifts, pallet jacks, pulleys, dolly’s, robotics reach equipment, people movers etc.), as required by job duties.
