Avionics Engineer

Description:
Position Responsibilities:



The Avionics & Electrical Systems Engineer will be responsible for (but not limited to) the following:

Design and test of Avionics & Electrical Systems with integration of complex software and hardware, including Electrical Power Generation and Distribution Systems, Integrated Avionics Systems and Displays, Communication and Navigation Systems, Mission Equipment Integration, Sensors and Vehicle Health Monitoring Systems
System and software design, requirements management, systems specifications, interface management, system safety assessment, verification and validation testing in desktop simulation environment and systems integration labs, aircraft flight test, and aircraft/system qualification and certification


The E3 (Electromagnetic Environmental Effects) Engineer will be responsible for (but not limited to) the following:

Provide MIL-STD-461 and DO-160 Avionics aircraft system and component level design oversight in EMC/EMI fields to include bonding, grounding, shielding, EMI prediction, EMI analysis, conducted and radiated interference, lightning protection and HIRF. 
Develop and review aircraft level, system level, and component level EMC/EMI qualification requirements and test plans; conduct or witnesses tests; create and review test reports.


The Wiring System Integration Engineer will be responsible for (but not limited to) the following:

Develop aircraft wiring architecture, diagrams and schematics using Mentor Graphics Capital Harness Systems (CHS) toolset and release wiring drawings in coordination with Flight Control, Avionics, and Electrical Systems engineers and Wire Routing/Installation design engineers
Support wiring supplier management, aircraft build installation, aircraft testing, and aircraft/system qualification and certification


Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree is required.  
Major in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering is preferred. 
Bachelor’s Degree in Physics, Computer Science, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering will be considered.


Position Requirements:

Experience with flight controls, software, avionics, or electrical systems integration, development, and testing.
Familiarity with RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD-810, RTCA DO-178, RTCA DO-254, SAE ARP4754A, SAE ARP4761, 14 CFR Part 27 and Part 29 for commercial and military qualification and certification of aircraft systems
Experience with Primary Development Environment:
MathWorks MATLAB / Simulink with Stateflow and Embedded Coder
C/C++ code
C# test scripts
IBM Rational DOORS
Serena Dimensions / PVCS
Git
Mentor Graphics Capital Harness System
