Sr. Systems Project Engineer

Location: Redmond, WA (98503)



Job Description

Provide leadership for new product introduction from conceptualization/business capture through component qualification and delivery.
Oversee development project schedules, budgets and resource allocation.
Support the development of new electromechanical systems for aerospace applications.
Including flight controls, brake controls and high precision utility actuation systems.

Break down system-level requirements and program documents from a customer into component-level requirements, software requirements, and individual tasks
Oversee or perform analysis to support system development – controls systems performance, safety analysis, etc.
Work with current and emerging motion control technologies – geared systems, motors, various sensor topologies, motor controllers and embedded systems
Support and direct testing of motion control systems from detail development tests through aircraft system integration tests.
Act as project focal for customers
Support proposal development for new projects and support new business capture initiatives
Provide mentoring to less experienced engineers


Qualifications:

Strong experience in development of electromechanical systems for air vehicles or space vehicles.
Experience with primary flight controls, secondary flight controls, high precision utility actuation or brake control systems a plus. Experience as a systems integration lead at an aircraft or spacecraft manufacturer a plus. Strong program management skills.
US citizenship or US permanent resident status is a requirement for this position.
B.S., M.S., or Ph.D in Engineering with broad exposure to electromechanical and embedded systems on air or space vehicles
15+ years of design, analysis, modeling, and testing experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
