Interiors Commodity Lead

Description:
We are looking for a Interior Commodity Leader for an exciting new aircraft project here in Seattle, WA. The Interior Commodity Lead & Cabin Safety position is responsible for leading a team in supporting the development, testing and certification of aircraft interior components and systems including: lavatory, galley, oxygen system, water waste system, flight deck module system, stowage, emergency equipment, cargo compartment, seats, and emergency equipment, flooring, sidewalls, etc. This role requires the significant exercise of independent discretion and judgment in matters of significance.

Responsibilities
Leads a team of engineers (1-10) responsible for all cargo engineering deliverables on a Regional Jet.
Review qualification by similarity and/or analysis reports.
Review system safety documents (PSSA, SFHA, AFHA, SSA and Particular Risk Analysis).
Perform Component Drawing Reviews.
Complete aircraft assembly and installation drawing reviews.
Participate in Systems Design Reviews.
Coordinate with suppliers to review technical data, certification requirements and troubleshoot any issues with supplies.
Coordinate with certification authorities to seek clarification on requirements.
Review certification guidance material (advisory circulars, etc.) and incorporate the necessary guidance into the certification plans.
Provides specialized technical assistance to team members.
Provides technical solutions to a wide range of challenges and opportunities
Works under limited supervision
Acts as liaison with other teams, internally and externally, including suppliers. Ensure communication channels are world-class.
Improves tools and processes for improved effectiveness
All tasks required to perform above activities are considered within work scope; initiating/ reviewing related documents, discussion with people concerned both within the company and partners.


Requirements
Bachelors degree in engineering, a related curriculum, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
5 years in the Interiors technical discipline or 10 years broad engineering experience in several technical disciplines with Bachelor.
Experience of a certification program (preferred).
Strong communication mindset with negotiating/ influencing skillset desirable.
