Job Title: Material Planners

Position Description for Materials Planner

Our Client is seeking a Material Planner to support the Strategic Programs Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for the analysis, implementation, and execution of material planning, material purchasing, production planning, inventory control, storage, and shipping/receiving functions for material and piece part components for the Strategic Programs Division. This position will analyze the needs of internal and external customers and will develop strategies to improve efficiency and coordinate supply and demand across multiple programs.

This position will primarily facilitate ordering and receipt of materials to meet project schedules for various manufacturing and production activities.
This work will include requesting and gathering quotes from vendors, along with tracking orders and scheduled receipt of parts.
The position will collect and supply Government-required purchasing backup and perform careful monitoring of scheduled deliveries from vendors.
This position will require frequent coordination with program managers, quality, engineers, buyers, inventory managers, and vendors to ensure that parts will be available when needed and that proper documentation is in place for orders and proposals.
Analyze program material requirements with a focus on direct program requirement needs, engineering or design changes, assembly demands, substitute parts or materials, and production set-ups
Oversee and systematically plan material requirements to meet program schedules and production demands
Issue Request for Quotes (RFQs)
Analyze production schedules, inventory reports, status reports, and customer information

Basic Qualifications of Materials Planner:

BA degree in related field with a Minimum of 4+ years Purchasing or Source Selection experience for DoD applications.
Must have DoD quotation experience
Costpoint Exp. if they do not have CP experience we will train them if they have the DoD quoting experience
Working Knowledge of raw materials, hardware, electrical, and finishing procedures used to produce components and assemblies for DoD or Aerospace hardware
2 years’ experience in procurement, production or material planning using Resource Planning Systems (ERP/MRP)
Other Qualifications of Materials Planner:

- Deltek Costpoint experience preferred.

- Experience with Microsoft Office Products

- Knowledge of government procurement regulations, policies, and procedures

- Must be capable of reading and understanding drawings, Bills of Materials and work instructions

- Must be capable of working independently in a fast paced, production environment

Security Requirements of Materials Planner:

Candidate must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance
