' ' 'An opportunity exists for a Principal Software Engineer within the Missile Defense Radar Software Department in Woburn, Massachusetts. The Missile Defense Radar Software Department's mission is to provide world class Missile Defense Radar Software to be used in radar systems deployed on land and sea. We strive for technical excellence by drawing upon a diverse workforce whose knowledge base covers the complete spectrum of modern computing languages and platforms.

The candidate will be software manager within the X-Band Software Product Line organization and will be responsible for planning and executing agile software development and maintenance under the UAE THAAD Contract. They will perform scheduling, budgeting, and tracking of the overall software effort. The software manager will analyze measurement data, perform root cause analysis and take corrective action when needed. They will also provide technical leadership to a team of up to 10 engineers.

The position requires strong technical leadership skills and previous experience in software cost and schedule management. The candidate must have the ability to quickly develop a high level understanding of real-time radar software. Our radar software applications are developed using Ada and C++ programming languages running on Dell x86 servers with a customized version of RedHat Linux. The candidate will be expected to understand development tasks and provide leadership across multiple areas of software engineering. This position requires understanding of the overall software development process as it applies to radar software development. The candidate will require the ability to understand the 'big picture” of the radar system and also be able to understand and prioritize issues as they arise.

Basic Qualifications:
•BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Software Engineering, or related STEM field
•Existing secret clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only US Citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
•Earned Value Reporting and Variance Analysis experience
•Knowledge of Software Development Process (CMMI)
•Minimum 6 yrs experience in software engineering
•Experience on Real-time Ada or C++ software development programs
•Software development experience in a DoD environment
•Experience managing Software engineering efforts
•Radar domain knowledge
•Strong problem solving ability
•Self starter and ability to lead development, integration and test activities
•Good verbal and written communication skills
•Familiarity with the following Tools: Rational Team Concert (RTC), Excel, iTracker, SBT, SED C5 Tool
•Experience with Agile/SCRUM development

Desired Qualifications:•EVMS Certification
•SPM Certification or (equivalent PMX Training)
•Proposal preparation and estimation process including EAC and BOE development
•Six Sigma Specialist certification
•Experience with Risk and Opportunity Management
•Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Software Engineering
