Principal Systems Engineer - Clearance (8652398)

The Secure Information Systems organization requires a Principal Systems Engineer to work a number of fast-paced developments of programmable cryptographic systems. The successful candidate will be experienced in systems architecture development, embedded systems development, requirements generation and flow down, and cryptographic security certification documentation development for complex designs. This position will work closely with the Customer, Program Managers, technical and support staff to successfully meet customer requirements and expectations. The successful candidate will also need to be an effective communicator, leader and decision maker.

Responsibilities will include:

• Support a multi-disciplined team of engineers developing programmable cryptographic modules and systems
• Provide the technical interface to the customer and provide leadership to the engineering team on the programs
• Work closely with the Program Manager to ensure programs are planned, staffed, and executed to plan
• Support all major project milestone reviews
• Provide oversight for the technical, cost and schedule performance of Systems engineering for the development effort
• Create system level requirements and architecture, security design and certification documents
• Ensure the integrity of all engineering products, drawings, plans and specifications, requirements allocation products, system architecture, design analyses, and interface descriptions
• Support problem investigation/corrective action teams

Required Skills:

• Minimum 8 years of related experience in supporting development projects from concept through implementation and integration
• Efficient time management to support multiple projects concurrently
• Knowledge in developing architectures for complex modules and the design of complex modules
• Proficient in working with engineering, quality and operations departments to successfully transition hardware to production
• Experience presenting to and interfacing with customers (internal and external)
• Experience with closure of issues, risks and opportunities
• Must be able to work problems and shape solutions with customers from both a tactical and strategic perspective

Desired Skills:

• Current or prior experience in cryptographic products and designs and certification processes
• First-hand experience in the development of embedded systems
• Technical depth working with field-programmable gate arrays, analog and digital circuits, and microprocessors
• Experience with Agile work behaviors

Required Education:

B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related technical field; M.S. in Electrical Engineering preferred
