Airport Engineer 4

Location: Seal Beach, CA
Duration: 1 year

Job Description:
Provides expertise in aircraft/airport compatibility issues to include airport operations, pavement roughness and strength analysis and aircraft pavement loading. Compares airplane configurations with airport operations and infrastructure to identify incompatible airplane or airport features. Performs on-site tests to validate airport pavement roughness and strength. Analyzes and documents airport infrastructure and provides recommendations for improvements. Conducts trade studies of product development airplane design characteristics and provides recommendations on configuration changes to improve airport compatibility. Surveys and documents airport infrastructure and provides recommendations for improvements. Participates in airport-related conferences, regulatory and industry meetings to disseminate trends and effect regulatory and airport infrastructure changes to improve compatibility with client aircraft. Coaches and trains others. Work under

Education / Experience:
Bachelor's and 9 or more years' experience, Master's with 7 or more years' experience or PhD with 4 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.

Airport Senior Engineer

Job Description:
Assesses compatibilities of in-service aircraft with airport infrastructure by conducting airport surveys. Leads survey teams to identify or validate airport compatibility issues and concerns. Recommends changes to facilities and / or procedures to support removal of operational restrictions. Coordinates release of airport or airplane information as requested. Applies knowledge of military and commercially available aeronautical data to conduct analyses.

Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of 10 years experience in airport infrastructure design and planning, air-side airport operations, and airport compatibility.
Minimum of 10 years experience in project leadership / management roles including active engagement with all of the following: cross-functional teams, airport authorities, aviation regulatory authorities, and airlines.

Desired Experience, Skills and Qualifications:
Strong relationship building and working-together skills.
Strong computer tool competencies relevant to infrastructure compatibility analyses.
Excellent communication skills.
Master’s degree in Engineering or a related engineering field.
