Quality Assurance (QA) Manager

Description:
PDS Tech Inc. is seeking a Quality Assurance (QA) Manager for a position at the Moses Lake Flight Test Center, for the Regional Jet Development Project.
This role will provide leadership and guidance on the Flight Test Quality Management System.

The primary responsibilities for this position include:



  • Effectively manages the Flight Test Quality Management System (QMS) ensuring the system and/or processes are effective, established, well maintained and part of a continuous improvement program. If processes are missing, identify the issue and immediately take action to establish necessary processes.
  • Acts as the functional management representative responsible for compliance of flight related processes.
  • Manages the daily activities of the Quality organization ensuring adequate resources are in place to support all compliance matters, escapes, inspections, audits, investigations, and reviews.
  • Directs and regularly interfaces with receiving inspection operations, quality engineers, and Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI).
  • Serves as a key internal consultant to the MFC leadership on all Quality matters.


  • Keeps management apprised of organizational performance, quality status and risks through regular MFC reviews.
  • Collaborates with Engineering, Instrumentation, Flight Operations, Supply Chain and Maintenance.
  • Manages conformity inspection activities including SOC (State of Conformity) for Type Certification critical testing of the aircraft.
  • Supports the activities related to continuous improvement of QA by Company including its parent/affiliated companies.
  •  Provides detailed weekly written business reports, relating to all program partners, potential customers, and supplier activities and business trips.

 
Specific Requirements:

  • Position requires technical and Quality expertise related to aviation certification programs and is able to plan and perform tasks with minimal management direction on complex technical issues and Quality findings.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Aerospace Quality Assurance Experience.
  • Aerospace and Commercial quality management experience is a must.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Must be able to pass Federal Security Clearance.
  • Must have strong teamwork skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, Root Cause Corrective Action experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must be able to travel within US and possibly international.

The ideal candidate will have the following combination of skill and experience:

  • Demonstrated experience as an action oriented leader with the ability to make decisions that always protect flight safety.
  • Strong ability to properly balance good compliance practices with other business initiatives to avoid conflict and allow all objectives of the business to be satisfied.
  • Demonstrated experience with balancing multiple and sometimes conflicting business objectives.

 Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Flight Test QMS experience is a plus.
  • Supplier capability assessment and performance evaluation experience is a nice to have
  • Education: BA/BS degree with 6-10+ years of experience or MA/MS degree with 4-7+ years of experience.
  • English Japanese Bilingual is a plus.
