Job Description
Function: Moog Aircraft Group in the Salt Lake City location is looking for a Systems Development Test Engineer (Contractor) who will execute Systems and Software-level test programs, in addition to resolving in a timely manner any test rig issues/anomalies, and collating/analyzing/reporting test data. In addition, the Systems Development Test Engineer is responsible for the completeness and accuracy of test program data and records.

Essential job functions:
Here’s what to expect on a day to day basis:
• Perform Systems and Software-level testing on Moog actuation flight control systems technology
• Collect and analyze test data; escalate unexpected signatures/behaviors as needed
• Execute electro-mechanical and hydraulic systems; resolve test rig issues as appropriate
• Represent Moog in a manner consistent with its technical reputation.
• Communicate test progress, status, and results real-time to Customer/program leadership as appropriate
• Gain familiarity and confidence to become a shift test lead for the Bombardier test program
• Ensure that complete and accurate test program data and records are generated and maintained.

Required skills:
At a minimum you'll need to meet these qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years relatable Aerospace or testing experience
• A formally or practically obtained working knowledge of engineering. Self-starting instincts, an aptitude for creative synthesis, and the ability to utilize and quickly learn advanced design and/or analysis techniques.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills suitable for effective oral and written dealings with the technical community including customers, program leadership, and Moog engineers from a variety of sites
• Ability to support non-traditional work hours (e.g. 2nd or 3rd shift); Weekend testing may be required based on program need

Preferred qualifications include:
• Experience with verification of Aerospace flight systems
• Data analysis/data processing experience
• Strong attention to detail
• Basic engineering understanding
Scope:
Education:
• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited university. A suitable alternative is an Associate’s degree or Engineering Technology degree with exceptional experience that has gained the candidate the ability to execute cognitive engineering tasks.
