Software Developer - Senior


The Application Programmer Analyst - Senior works independently to provide advanced technical analysis, application systems programming, web development, and quality assurance testing in order to ensure that software created meets the functional specifications provided. ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS (This is not an all-inclusive list of all job duties that may be required; employees will be required to perform other related duties as assigned. List in order of importance) • Establish/update UI (user interface) coding and usability standards • Establish/update UI framework for Treasurer’s Office • Update C# coding standards • Establish/update Entity Framework standards and architecture • Provide technical guidance to other developers • Develop software modules of high complexity and scope, while adhering to established development standards. • Work in a team environment to develop (code/debug/test), document, and install web-based software systems. • Maintain technical designs, coding, unit testing, peer reviews, providing time/cost estimates, and required documentation. • Work independently to develop solutions for complex business and technical problems.
 Minimum education and/or experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field and five (5) years of software development experience. Two (2) or more years of experience developing with Visual Studio including experience in object oriented design and web development. Other combinations of education, experience, or training that may be considered in substitution for the minimum requirements: A combination of education and work experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. Specialized training, certifications, and/or other special requirements: [Insert specialized training, certifications and/or other special requirements] Knowledge, skills, and abilities: Knowledge of: • Object-oriented programming concepts, theory, and practices • Techniques used in the design of web applications • SOLID principles of object-oriented programming • N-tier architecture • Complete software development lifecycle Skill in: • Object-oriented Javascript • Knockoutjs, emberjs, handlebars, or other MVVM frameworks • Jquery • CSS 3 and Html 5 • Bootstrap • Less and/or SASS (CSS precompiler) • C# and MVC • Entity Framework • Problem-solving • Microsoft .NET technologies and Visual Studio development tools Ability to: • Convert software requirements into complete working solutions • Communicate well both verbally and in written form • Troubleshoot and debug applications • Analyze and organize technical data • Understand and follow instructions • Conduct functional and non-functional testing • Perform unit and integration testing before launch
Preferred education and/or experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or closely-related field with at least 5 years’ experience developing web-based applications using Visual Studio, C#,, MVC, object-oriented Javascript, and jquery; at least two years of experience with CSS3 and HTML5 is also preferred. Preferred training, certifications and/or other special requirements: None. Working conditions: Office environment, cubical setting.
