Senior Software Engineer - JAVA - Airborne & Ground Systems

Job Title: Senior Software Engineer
Location: Richardson, TX
Clearance: No, but preferred
Job Type: W2 Contract
Duration: 12 Months, could be extended and/or become a direct position

• We are currently seeking qualified candidates for Senior Software Engineering positions to support airborne platforms and ground based systems across multiple programs.
• This opportunity requires an individual who can perform a number of key software lifecycle development activities, including the design, development and the integration testing of mission systems software.
• The candidate should be self-motivated and willing to work in a fast paced environment as part of a dynamic and growing software development team.
• Additionally, the candidate should be experienced with common software engineering tools and practices.

Candidates must have the following: 
• US Citizenship
• Must possess or be eligible for obtaining a U.S. DoD Secret Clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/re-instatement and must meet eligibility requirements.
• Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline
• At least 5 years of Java experience
• Object oriented design experience including UML modelling
• Well-disciplined in software engineering processes and methodologies
• Well-disciplined in configuration management practices
• Demonstrated commitment to software quality including software peer reviews
• Proficiency in industry standard software development tools (such as Subversion, JIRA, Enterprise Architect or equivalents) 
• Experience in all software lifecycle disciplines including design, implementation, and test

The following experience is desirable: 
• Familiarity with Java development on Red Hat systems and Windows
• Java Swing and experience designing user interfaces
• Proficiency in using Eclipse IDE
• Proficiency in J-Unit testing or similar
• Understanding of Network Management fundamentals 
• Experience with Ethernet-based interfaces including TCP/IP
• Experience with serial communication interfaces
• Experience of developing software for military applications and/or experience of working government programs 
• Familiarity with software design patterns
